Meet the team - Jennifer

​In our latest installment of Meet the Team, we sat down with our newly appointed QLD Customer Engagaement Manager, Jennifer. She shares what she sees as the biggest opportunities and challenges in the disability support sector, and shares some of her secret talents and reveals little-known facts.

Tell us a bit about yourself


I grew up all over America and traveled around the world extensively but originally, I am from Texas, I have lived in AU for over 19 years, it is home. I love dancing, cooking, eating good food, traveling, reading, learning new things and spending time with my son and eating some more. Big Foodie!

 

When did you join NNA?


In May 2021 (last week!).

 

What do you see as the biggest challenge in the disability sector today?


Quality staffing solutions

 

What do you see as the biggest opportunity for the disability support sector/providers?


To provide holistic client centric disability support and training.

 

What is a little-known fact about yourself?


I am creative and super handy, I fix my toilets, renovated my whole house on my own, and secretly I am an interior designer at heart. It’s my job to make things pretty I joke.

What are you most excited about looking ahead in your new job?



I love learning and hearing people's stories, I hope I will learn new skills. It’s wonderful to see clients succeed toward their goals and feel good about the supports they have relationships with to help get them there.

Recently, we caught up with Joseph Semaan who we previously introduced to you as our Customer Engagement Manager. But we wanted to reintroduce you to him and his new role at NNA Direct Support Service. Joseph is now our Business Development Consultant based in Western Sydney and has been with us since November 2021. He has over 5 years of experience in the disability sector and has been great to have on the team. What do you see as the biggest opportunity for disability support providers? To reach more participants and assist them to live more independently and improve their well-being and quality of life. Biggest challenge for the disability support sector? Firstly, the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) not responding quick enough to plan reviews, impacting participants care. Also, the risk of organisations not meeting professional standards to provide model care to participants. What are some fun facts about you? I have a Diploma in Remedial Massage and ran a business for over 12 years. What are you most excited about for in 2023? Professionally, I am excited to continue to expand the business and help as many people as possible. Personally, watching my daughter grow and celebrate her 1 st birthday.
