Our PPE Approach - We Pay, Not You

Unlike other disability support providers, we don’t think participants should be funding personal protective equipment (PPE) for their support workers. Your funds are better spent on getting the support you need.

Our PPE Approach – We pay, not you

NNA Direct Support will continue to supply PPE (including surgical masks) to all our support workers and community nurses until 30th September. We will be funding this at our own expense and will not be claiming it against our customers’ NDIS funds.

Wearing of masks

Face masks are now mandatory in VIC and strongly recommended by the NSW Government. As a result, all NNA Direct Support staff are wearing surgical face masks on all shifts in VIC and we are arranging masks for all of our support workers in NSW.

If you are a participant, the NDIS has made temporary changes to funding arrangements for PPE. This will allow you, in some cases, to purchase and claim PPE items like face masks and glove using your core support budget. You can read more about this here.

For any of our customers who are struggling to find PPE, please reach out. We are happy to arrange this for you and can help claim this on your behalf.

Our commitment to you

Your health is our top priority and we are committed to doing everything we can to keep our staff and customers safe while continuing to provide the best quality support.

Finally, we know this is a very challenging time for everyone. If you have any concerns, questions, or want to learn more about our in-home support services, our door is always open. You can always reach out to us at dss@nnadirectsupport.com.au or call us on 1300 346 052.

Take care & look out for one another.

Recently, we caught up with Joseph Semaan who we previously introduced to you as our Customer Engagement Manager. But we wanted to reintroduce you to him and his new role at NNA Direct Support Service. Joseph is now our Business Development Consultant based in Western Sydney and has been with us since November 2021. He has over 5 years of experience in the disability sector and has been great to have on the team. What do you see as the biggest opportunity for disability support providers? To reach more participants and assist them to live more independently and improve their well-being and quality of life. Biggest challenge for the disability support sector? Firstly, the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) not responding quick enough to plan reviews, impacting participants care. Also, the risk of organisations not meeting professional standards to provide model care to participants. What are some fun facts about you? I have a Diploma in Remedial Massage and ran a business for over 12 years. What are you most excited about for in 2023? Professionally, I am excited to continue to expand the business and help as many people as possible. Personally, watching my daughter grow and celebrate her 1 st birthday. If you or someone you know is looking for support in Sydney, please get in touch with Joseph on LinkedIn here .
